Print Media: Trying to Convert

When asked what advice he had for aspiring journalists, New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr., quipped:

"Why don't we not go there?"

Then he laughed.

"Um, what I would tell them is the industry is in the midst of a massive transition," he said. "We are trying to convert shipping companies to airplane companies."

Given the recent clumsiness of the Times, his analogy is surprisingly apropos.
